Kayla Barnes finally found true love and complete happiness … or so she thought. Being married to Mark, the man of her dreams, and having the career she dreamed about as a little girl has finally come true, and Kayla couldn't think of anything more to ask for. That is until the truth about her husband's adulterous ways are revealed. Mark isn't the man that Kayla thought he was, and when his mistress is exposed, her identity will turn Kayla's world upside down.

This tale takes you on the Barnes’ marriage ride; where truths are revealed, secrets are exposed, and loyalty is tested. Kayla quickly learns that all vows aren't good vows, and everything that glitters isn't gold. In the end, people aren't who they say they are, family isn't blood, and friendship means nothing.

(NON-SPOILER REVIEW) A debut standalone story that wasn't filled with; constant plot twists, cuss words, drug dealers, fighting, and the list could go on. Now, don't misinterpret what I'm saying; I'm for one appreciates those kind of storylines, and applaud those authors who can bring the drama full front in their novels. However, in this subject tale, its simplicity, was a breath of fresh air. The author penned; real emotions and actions ... 'predictable,' 'boring,' you say ... so what. From the beginning, I allowed myself to step into the world of these characters, and by the end of the story, I was satisfied with the outcome.

A few things that are notable ... Excellent character development; what we needed to know about the heroine/hero we were informed of, and not have to guess. I hardly noticed any grammatical/editing issues. The consistency of the story was, written in a readable, and mature adult manner. With all that said, I had only wished for one thing ... for the author to have given us more of an insight of Stephanie's character. I understand this story was to focus mostly on Kayla and Mark's point of views. But, the writer only tapped the surface of a character that could have taken this novel to another level.

I commend A. Mackin for taken the time to showcase her writing talent to the world. And must say, I look forward to the full development of this author, because just as one of her characters, she's only tapped the surface, and I only hope for more diamonds to overflow.

Although I figured out the plot very early in this book it still was a good read. I would recommend it.
MOVES ALONE FAST THIS IS REAL CRAZY DRAMA BOUT TO READ PT TWO AND HOPE STEPANIE GETS ONE TO THE DOME MARK REMINDS ME OF MY EX HUSBAND BUT ONLY HE WAS GOOD AT BEING SNEAKY
Must say I enjoy this Book. Once I started I needed to know how it was going to end. Especially with all the lies, betrayal, and cheating going on I needed to know How the story line was going to play out. Well Done I must say. Trust me you will enjoy this.
The book was definitely well written and not many grammatical errors at all. But boy was this book TOTALLY predictable. Within the first 30 minutes of reading, I knew who, what, when and why honey. And for that I was really disappointed. I kept reading in hopes that I was mistaken and there'd be some juicy, mind-blowing twist....nope. I've read countless books with this exact, same plot. Hugh sigh. Oh well. It was only 99¢.
I liked the storyline, but it went a bit slow for me, and delivery was dry in places. I do think the author has potential and will continue to support her work. If there was a 3.5 I'd give that because to me 3 is kinda low and it's not a bad story. I just didn't have an in between.
Great book story flowed great, although there were a couple of errors I still gave this one five stars because the excellent storyline made up for the errors. Poor Kayla her husband was just a dog in the two years they were together before they got married she didn't know he was a low down dirty dog. The best friend that's a whole different story right there. Great job on this on
I read this book in just a few hours.
Although I loved the storyline and the writing I'm a little disappointed in the characters and their actions. It was a little obvious just reading the book who the "other woman" was.
I do look forward to part 2. I hope Kayla sticks to her guns. Mark isn't worthy. Is it over for Stephanie. Somehow I don't think so. Which of the other ones will come out of the woodwork to keep the drama going?
